Walking in Snow

Phew, the holiday time is over, which kept me very busy, hence the no posting. Below is a sketch of a girl and a dog (shocking!) that I did on the airplane from the West Coast back out East.

Also, I want to announce that I am going to participate in Fun-a-Day 2011, starting on January 1st! Right here on this blog! There will be drawings! Words! Thrills to no end! I'll post my first image on the new year, along with a short description of my project this year.

Lastly, if something called Fun-a-Day! appeals to you, you should look it up (I cannot find links!)! It's amazing! In a nutshell, you choose something fun (or anything - making your bed, hugging a stranger), and do it every day all the month of January! At the end of the month, there are group shows all over the country. Fun! A day!

A Bit Late, But...

Here's a character sketch for a comic coming (kind of) soon! It'll be good, because the illustrious William is involved.

A Girl, a Dog, and a 40

It's Thanksgiving!

I know I've done a variation on this painting a few times now, but... well, I am still dealing with a lot. The girl is totally what I look like these days. I also like the quick brush strokes on the skin - it's a lot more like how I want to use gouache.

Transgender Day of Remebrance 2010

This Saturday is the Transgender Day of Remembrance. I participated in the annual webcomics project, the archives of which can be found here. The day is to honor and mention trans people who are killed about once a month. Most of the victims are trans women of color, many from other countries besides this one (the U.S.A.). My goal with the page was to discuss my relative good fortune and privilege in my life so far, while also paying tribute to the dead, and looking forward with some amount of hope for the future.

The theme of this year is "Coping." From the website:
How do we cope with the knowledge that transgendered people (and their friends and loved ones) are killed and murdered for who they are (or for who they associate with)? What do we do knowing that we, or someone we know could be targeted for this?

My Re Fucking Turn.

I am so back. This blog is going to be pretty different than what it was before. Now, maybe once or twice a week (I'm not going to be on "on schedule" (like I ever was, heh) anymore, and it won't be a themed blog. Instead, I'll just post something. It might be a finished piece, sketches, doodles, whatever. The general idea is "Art by Elenore."

So! Welcome back, again!

This piece below is pen and guache on paper.

Love.
